Cabin by the Lake

This one started as a watercolor, inspired by Ireland. The tree lines and the river come straight from a scene of Ireland in my head. But as I worked on it, the painting started to take on a different feel. I added a cabin, reshaped the mountains into something you’d see out West, flattened the terrain a bit, and scattered some rocks along the shoreline. Then came the muddy road. Bit by bit, it turned into a western landscape—but its roots are still in Ireland. Funny how a place can shift like that through paint.
