Fall on the Hudson River

Every Tuesday, a few of us gather to paint together—brushes in hand and stories always flying. One afternoon, my friend Harry brought in a painting he was working on: a copy of John William Casilear’s River Scene, Catskills. I couldn’t take my eyes off it. The quiet water, the distant mountains, the light—it all struck a chord. I asked if I could paint it too, and he said, "Of course." This piece quickly became one of my favorites. There’s something timeless in it, and I’m grateful it found its way to my easel.
