Out of the Fog

The idea for this painting came from a Tom Selleck movie—Crosswind Trail. At the beginning, there’s this haunting scene where the ship they’re shanghaied on emerges through the fog. You hear that eerie foghorn—rrrrrrr—and I can still hear it in my head. That sound stuck with me. This painting is my way of capturing that moment. It was a fun one to paint and one I really enjoyed.
